Explore our materials
Behind every EPIC suitcase are carefully developed materials and patented technologies that balance low weight, strength, and long durability. We work with different materials depending on the area of use, from lightweight and durable composites to flexible textiles with high resistance. Always with a focus on improving your travel experience.
Our innovations are developed internally and protected through patented solutions that enhance both function and durability. They contribute to increased stability, lower weight, better impact resistance, and smoother handling on the move.
Here you can read more about our materials and how the technologies affect everything from construction to performance, and which collections use each material. Whether it concerns hard or soft suitcases, the goal is the same: to create products that last over time and work in real travel situations.
AtlasCOREâą
In the AtlasCORE construction, we have combined our DuraLITE+ material with a reinforced internal frame structure in the shell. This built-in frame strengthens the bag from the inside, making it more stable, more impact-resistant, and better at retaining its shape over time, without increasing the weight. The construction consists of three layers of 100% polycarbonate: an outer protective layer, a middle layer with a structural reinforcement core that provides extra strength, and an inner base layer that contributes to durability and stability.
This advanced material technology is used only in our Atlas group.

DuraLITE+âą
The Crate family consists of four separate collections, all based on our DuraLITE+âą material â developed to provide an optimal balance between low weight, high strength, and long durability. All models have the same designed shell, created to efficiently distribute force from shocks and impacts, which increases abrasion resistance and better protects the contents under stress.
The construction consists of three layers of 100% pure polycarbonate, where an extra protective outer layer reinforces the shell and increases resistance to scratches and impacts. Depending on the model, the surface finish varies to create different visual expressions and functional styles, but the core structure and level of protection are the same throughout the Crate family.

VTTâą
VTTâą is our advanced unibody construction made of 100% polypropylene, designed to combine low weight with high strength and durability. VTT stands for Variable Thickness Technology, which means the shell is manufactured with varying thickness to optimize protection and flexibility where it is needed most. For example, vulnerable areas such as corners and edges are reinforced to better withstand shocks and hard impacts during travel.
The result is a durable and lightweight shell with high precision and smart design, developed to endure the stresses of travel without becoming unnecessarily heavy. The polypropylene material also allows for detailed and distinctive shell designs with both function and style in focus.
The material is used in the Zeleste Re:Process, Phantom SL, Anthem, and Halo collections, which differ in design, shell shape, and interior.

PureTECHâą
PureTECHâą is our advanced ABS material, developed to combine light weight with increased strength and better resistance to scratches and wear. The construction consists of two layers of pure ABS, where the outer layer has an extra durable and scratch-resistant finish that helps the bag maintain its appearance longer.
The unique outer layer also gives the material its characteristic shine and makes it possible to create deep, vibrant colors with an exclusive feel. At the same time, the specially developed construction contributes to a tougher and more durable shell that better withstands the stresses of travel.
This advanced material technology is used only in our Airwave NEO group.

AirFRAMEâą
AirFRAMEâą is the result of many years of development of our soft suitcases. We have always worked on creating lightweight bags, but during development, we realized that what truly unites them is: super light, made the right way.
We believe that a soft suitcase should not only be light but also stable and durable. Thatâs why we developed the AirFRAME chassis, which gives the bag an internal structure that creates shape and strength without adding weight. The core consists of a lightweight construction made of thermoformed and cut polypropylene, reinforced with polycarbonate rods that provide extra stability and durability to the frame.
This material technology is used in all three of our soft collections, which differ in design, expression, and features.

INNOVATION WITH PURPOSE
For us, innovation is about responsibility â not about renewing for the sake of renewal. We evolve through conscious choices, modular design, and standardized components that extend the lifespan of every product.
All materials meet strict EU standards, and as members of BSCI, we ensure that our manufacturing partners follow a clear code of conduct for responsible production.
We are driven by long-term development â reducing waste, refining details, and improving performance without compromise. Each collection is another step towards the next generation of travel: created to adapt, built to last, and designed to make the journey itself seamless.
DESIGNED IN SWEDEN
In 2004, on Swedenâs west coast just outside Gothenburg, EPIC Travelgear was founded based on the belief that there must be a better, more sustainable, and more inspiring alternative in bags and luggage.
Our philosophy is based on practical innovation: thoughtful materials, interchangeable components, and solutions that age with dignity instead of wearing out.
Developing high-quality and long-lasting products is a conscious choice â a way to care for our environment and ensure it can be appreciated by future generations. Our mission then, as now, is to create better travel gear through Scandinavian Travel Innovation.
